No matter how busy your day, no matter how poorly you’re feeling, FACEBOOK, more often than not, is always a part to one’s way of life – the FB generation as I call it.

Undoubtedly, FACEBOOK is the most popular social networking site today.  There are more than 500 million active users to date and this number keeps growing every single day. Mark Zuckerberg, the main founder of FB continues to get wealthy as his virtual lounge unsurprisingly attracted a massive fraction of the world’s living population. (more…)

From about 6.5 thousand miles, Josh West, a London Bus Driver, travelled around 18 hours going to Manila to see what it’s like to be an ordinary jeepney driver and experience one of the most shocking and dangerous conditions of the planet.

Manila, the world’s most densely populated city, in the eyes of an innocent Londoner who cross thousand of miles, dropped for ten days the comfort and convenience of his work and braved the chaos streets of the Philippines capital city. (more…)

The shocking suicide incident carried out by former AFP Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes, still makes headlines over televisions and newspapers.  It is but a distressing fact that his family and the Filipino people are both suspending upon a losing situation.  He left his loved ones with a vacuum of hope, and the country a missing link to the ongoing investigation of the alleged massive corruption within the Armed Forces of the Philippines.  Whatever his reasons in taking his own life, is a question that we could not answer but only speculate. I am home and away. In my silent moments, I just could not help myself longing for home. The simple life, family, the friendly people, friends, the genuine laughter, the family gathering, the food, the sand, the sea and sun, the karaoke, are barely few of those panoramas,

which remind me that there is indeed better reason to come home. Life is so different when you work and live in a land you could never call your own.  And I say this time after time, there is no better place on Earth other than my native land. (more…)

My former colleague and a good friend Hilda tweeted me a rather tougher challenge – BEAT MYSELF.  I presume she was referring to my diet which I honestly find very difficult to put a proper lookout. You see my gouty arthritis according to my GP is primarily associated to the kinds of food that I eat, and I swear that when it comes to my meals, I am a super stubborn fellow who care less about what not to eat, and undervalued how my doctor scare me regarding the implications of an unhealthy eating habit.  (more…)

Our brain is undoubtedly the most powerful component of our body, but I do not mean there is anything less important. Every bit that makes up our anatomy is as significant as those which are very obvious like our eyes, or nose, or mouth. Here are some trivia about this most incredible creation in the universe.

It was in the middle of 2005 when I learned from my doctor that I had a gouty arthritis. But before that I remembered one day when my right toe was so painful and swollen yet I never had any inkling if it was something more serious than just an ordinary sprain or an unprovoked injury. I did not bother to consult any medical practitioner but rather went to a neighbour who is a popular ‘hilot’ in our place and asked him to fix my sprain. (more…)

I was completely fuming at the news about a ‘special child’ who was offloaded from a Cebu Pacific plane because of a very discriminating reason.  How the F*!K the crew gulped down such a degrading act of hypocrisy.  A child who is already helpless to protect himself, feebled by his condition, is further humiliated by a bunch of heartless people.  It was an awfully preposterous gesture of the stewards and stewardesses of Cebu Pacific to do that, and such indifference do not only necessitate admonition but a serious legal action for compensation of the aggrieved and dismissal of the few cold blooded parasites. In my earlier post, I did mention about how distracting gouty arthritis is when it attacks.  Aside from the burning pain and torment, you would also feel distressed about its implication to your work and efficiency.  Out of desolation, you would end up prickly or impatient and ask why on earth you get this illness. Gouty arthritis is caused by elevated levels of uric acid in a blood, crystallizes and dumped particularly in joints and the tissues around them ready to turn red and swollen once triggered by an underlying cause. The recurrent of its attacks is what worries me much. But again blame me and my diet. In the first place, the urate crystals wouldn’t be staying around in my anatomy if I should have been very concern with my intakes.  No need to complain now indeed.

So what really are the causes of gouty arthritis? The underlying cause of gout is what it medically termed as hyperuricemia which is by the way associated with personal diet, genetic, and excretion of urate. (more…)

It seemed like I’ve been away from my laptop for ages. No new articles for my treasured blogosphere, have not opened my facebook for the longest time, unable to do my usual routines, my email’s so loaded with endless messages, have failed to greet everyone a happy new year, literally I was feeling completely degraded in the past couple of weeks. The reason is simply agonizing – I’ve got a Gouty in my right hand.
